The longest day or night, dependant upon which hemisphere you are viewing it from, is a still point. In our orbit around the sun we have reached a zenith. From our point of view from Earth, the Sun has reached it’s highest or lowest point in the sky and from here on, until the next solstice, it will appear to travel back again. So we are in that space between the in and the out breath, a pause. Time to connect in with ourselves, time to collect ourselves, ready for the next phase of momentum.
This reading suggests that we are being offered a new beginning, but before we lithely and lightly, boldly step out into the unknown, we are being asked to reflect. Reflect upon the way things were done before, do we need to remember some of the old ways and bring them more to the fore, once more. Or are we carrying on dogmatically, just because this is the way it has always been, even though we know in our bones that this no longer works. We need to stop for a moment and look in earnest at these things. What are honest lessens learnt and venerable teachings that we can take with us as foundation stones? And what are out dated, out worn modes of being that bind us in chains, bonds that need breaking, so that we may move forward into our brave new world?

It is likely that we will find, in this reflection, a dream we once held but had cast aside believing it could never be had. The 6 of Vessels (Cups) suggests that now may be the time for its resurrection and renewal. The time is now right for the ripening of this up picked fruit, it day has come. Dagalaz shines the light of day, a new dawn, a chance for transformation. Shining upon this lost and forgotten opportunity, for you to remember, handing you the chance to try again.
A new beginning awaits and it is brimming with potential and unbounded possibilities. It’s never too late to dream a dream into being.
