This week’s rune is Gifu or Gibu, the Gift. The sacred wheel of reciprocity. Keeping balance and harmony, as the water wheel can only turn when the same amount of water flows in as flows out.
It is no wonder that Gifu has become the symbol for a kiss, two fires (Kennaz) mirroring each other. Gifu is the fundamental cosmic law of life and we are being asked to make sure that we keep our balance sheet in order. Are we giving more than we receive? Are we taking without gratitude? Where in your life does balance need to be redressed?
When we respect the harmonic cycle of this sacred wheel, then we are assured to always have enough and for there to be enough for all. When we do not, then need follows on the heals of greed and scarcity is birthed by gluttony.
