Each week I will pull a rune and ask what energy we are being asked to work with for the week.

This week’s rune is Sowelo, the gladdener, the sun and in many ways this rune is very similar to The Sun card in the Tarot. It is about abundance, joy, fulfilment, growth, happiness, dreams coming true.

The message, however, that this rune wanted to convey for this time, is remind us that we humans are generators. That is to say that we manifest, we bring things into being, put another way, we create the world that we live in. This is regardless of our awareness, or our conscious effort, this is simply the power of our mind.

So, whilst we are feeling, down, miserable, weighed upon by the pressures of the times, the heavy taxes, expensive fuel, low wages, war, debt etc etc. these are the things that we are focusing on, giving thought and energy to and so with out realising it we are creating more and more of it.

Sowelo asks us to shift our thinking and our feeling onto how we would like things to be, what brings us joy, what lightens our hearts, our moods and our minds. Do not judge it, nor worry about how it might come about or bemoan that it isn’t as you would like it. Focus wholly on what brings you joy, happiness and feelings of abundance. Because you are manifesting what you are focused on, so manifest what you want and not more of what you don’t want.

In return, all Sowelo asks of us is to open our hearts and allow ourselves to dream, to allow our dreams the chance to come true.
