As has been said many times by many people over the last few months, we are in the birthing of a new way, a new way of being, a new way of seeing, a new way of relating. Birth is neither easy nor comfortable, even when we flow with it and offer no resistance. This is how it has been feeling for many. As the the old way is being released and cleansed before the new way can thrive, it can feel confusing, turbulent and chaotic – Hagalaz.
Here Hagalaz is sitting with abundance, asking us to reevaluate how we view or perceive abundance. Abundance comes in many forms, many energies, many guises – we can have an abundance of feeling, skill, talent, kindness, ideas, as well as wealth etc. Hagalaz stirs things up, bringing to the surface and clearing out that which no longer serves our highest good – the clogged, blocked and broken. How destructive and difficult this is, is entirely dependant on the situation, the need and the level of resistance. We are being asked to relate to abundance in a completely different way, to change our mindsets and belief systems around abundance completely. The degree of difficulty is directly correspondent to the degree of entrenchment in our beliefs and perspectives.
Mother Earth is abundant, she is teaming with life and resources, enough for everyone. It is a belief in scarcity, a mindset of lack, based in fear that creates greed, inequality, over consumption and in balance. This is the world view that must crumble to dust for the seeds of the new to thrive and flourish.
The 2 of Stones offers us a teaching around this mindset change. It is often said that healthy competition helps us to develop and grow, to stretch us out of our comfort zones. This is part of the old world paradigm that is being flushed from our systems. The new way is a way of community and collaboration, we thrive with supportive, like minded hubs. Hubs are the strength around which the wheel can turn. As we move from the old world of separation into, the new world of holism, we learn to support not compete, as there is enough for everyone when we all share together. Uruz has many messages, but for me the main one here is mind, body and spirit working together as a whole, equal but not the same. The holy trinity in synergy. Holy is wholey, holism, holistic meaning entire.
Wunjo ushers in the waves of joy that come from our individual rivers coming together as a lake. We no longer travel through life as the lone wolves but as the pack, the tribe, the family, Sangha. The Kings have reached a place of wisdom, through life’s learnings and the experience of time, they see the bigger picture and know how to direct those under their care. They are the caretakers, the overseers. The King of Stones is highly pragmatic, his directions are clear, offering us step by step guidance as to how to implement these changes and new found wisdoms.
You may being feeling that life has been in upheaval for sometime now, feeling dazed and confused. That confusion begins to lift as we find our way with the support of community and like minded tribe, an home coming of sorts. Embrace this feeling of relaxation that comes from letting go of the fear model of competition, lack and scarcity. Allow this new found feeling of safety to follow deeper and deeper with in you. We have been stuck in flight and fight as a culture for centuries, may be even millennia, give yourself the grace of kindness, take a deep breath, stop for a moment and let the world of nature restore you, she is abundance and will flow through every cell in your body if you stop long enough to let her in. In that place of calm stillness you will be able to hear the lessons that the King of Stones is offering. The path will unfold before you.
