I drew this reading last night at the end of my full moon shamanic journeying circle, before closing down the space for the evening and as close to the moon’s point of fullness as I could. The energy was eager and the first couple of cards fell independently from the deck as I shuffled them.
The year so far has been one full of some hefty energies, pushing us to face things that, up until now we have been unwilling to take on, clear out the closet, transform and shift the stuck and blocked. In short, turn ourselves around, for if we are to continue our walk with this life giving planet we will need to alter our current relationship with life. It would seem from this spread that the moon is bringing us the energies and learnings we need to understand what that balanced and harmonious relationship looks and feels like, a taste of what is possible if we shift our perspectives appropriately.
The first card to drop from the pack was the 10 of vessels, a card of fulfilment and abundant happiness, a card of the heart, of sharing in life’s loves and pleasures. We reach this place through the work of change and growth, of healing and acceptance that these extraordinary times have dragged us kicking and screaming through. It offers a time of rest, relaxing and sharing in the joy of simplicity with those that we hold dear. Paired with the rune Gifu we are reminded that true joy and happiness comes from sharing all that we are and have, the good, the bad and the indifferent.
The lesson here is one of universal law, fundamental laws of energetic exchange, by giving we receive and by receiving we give. This last statement is often the hardest one of all to embrace, to receive unconditionally. When we truly learn to receive with out judgement nor exception, then and only then, do we have the capacity to give unconditionally. This is the message of Perthro paired with the 9 of vessels, as she tries to teach us about fate and karma, these two so very misunderstood laws of exchange. In some ways you could say that it’s all about resonance, the “vibe” you give off is your signal for what you want to receive. If you give out joy and happiness then joy and happiness is what you will feel in return. If you give out anger and aggression then anger and aggression are what you will feel in return etc etc etc. Whilst the world outside of us may have its ups and downs, its pains, sorrows, joys, loves, laughters and loses, this state of abundant joyful happiness is a well spring that bubbles up from with inside of us, let your cup over follow. As the I Ching states “good luck is the residue of good design”.
Our challenge is to walk this life of balance, to juggle our responsibilities with our needs. To give to our loved ones and families, to give to our work, our homes our responsibilities and to give to ourselves the feelings and situations that we need to sustain us. All work and no play leads to ill health and unhappiness, all play and no work leads to ill health and unhappiness. It is possible to find a path of equilibrium and harmony and this month’s full moon will be bringing us what we need to find it. It is all about balance, give and take, fluidity, flexibility and movement. Allow yourselves to be challenged, step out of your comfort zones and allow yourselves to stretch beyond your known limits. It is time for discovering that you are so much more than you thought you were and the feeling this brings is joy filled.
