ARTEX Month

As part of Somerset Art Weeks I have some of my works up in exhibitions, now open to the public.

Firstly, as a member of Somerset Art Works (SAW) I have “Divine in the Fire” exhibited in the Brewhouse Theatre, Taunton, as part of the “Behind the Scenes” exhibition, open to the public until the end of October. As this year’s theme is open studios the exhibition is designed to show how our work has changed or been affected by these extraordinary times.

Personally my spiritual work, as an earth centred Shamanic practitioner, has become fully integrated into my every day life, in all that I do and how I go about doing it. For my artwork this translates as a form of channeled co-creation, from the conception of the work and throughout its coming into being, starting with a ceremonial invitation to the energies of the work to manifest into the final piece. This brings a movement, flow, almost visceral energy into each painting as it takes on a life of its own.

I chose “Divine in the Fire” as I feel that she expresses this beautifully, as you stare into her fire she reveals all manner of life forms. Originally created as a series of the elements she obviously holds the fire. Her fellow elemental pieces are currently hung in the Kingston-St-Mary village hall as part of the KSMARTEX 23, a yearly exhibition showcasing local artists open to viewing 10-5pm daily until 24th September.
