This cockerel topiary frame was commissioned for a country house in Longdown. The client required a frame that would act as a garden sculpture whilst the box plant takes it’s time to grow through it, and needed to be seen from a distance.

I started with a prototype, 2 feet high by 4 feet long, made from aluminium armature wire and chicken wire. The client approved the design, but wanted something bigger as it needs to be seen from a distance. We discussed adding aluminium sheet strips so make the body more visible whilst the box plant takes it’s time to grow.

The final piece stands 4 feet high, by 5 feet long and 1.5 feet wide.
If you would like to commission a garden sculpture to either stand alone or to be used as a frame for climbing plants or topiary I am happy to design and create to your requirements. I work with wire and mesh or natural fibres, such as willow and hazel.
